The Head of Commercial – WA  will be responsible for all commercial outcomes for SCA WA which includes 39 radio stations and for our digital audio product LiSTNR.  Our WA audio ecosystem reaches 1,170,000 surveyed listeners and we have 222,000 people who have signed in to our LiSTNR platform. This means that there is an audio solution across the state of WA for all clients.

This is a senior role that will lead our agency, direct, regional and digital sales teams, and will be a key strategic role within the SCA National Leadership Team.

What does your day to day look like?

  • Provide strategic leadership to the WA sales team, aligning efforts with national objectives and driving revenue across all Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) assets.
  • Develop and grow sales staff (Coordinators, Account Managers, and Managers) through structured training, in-field coaching, and inspirational leadership.
  • Collaborate with the National Head of Audio Sales and Executive General Manager – WA to align sales strategies with business goals, conduct effective team meetings, and support regional leadership in hitting targets.
  • Manage and support the Head of Regional Sales, ensuring alignment and providing guidance to achieve sales targets and strategic goals.
  • Drive client relationships and business development by fostering key agency and client connections, analyzing market trends, and identifying new revenue opportunities.
  • Oversee sales operations including inventory management, proposal approvals, promotional planning, marketing alignment, and compliance with SCA processes.
  • Promote team culture and operational excellence through inclusive leadership, proactive recruitment, performance management, and continuous process improvements.

What you’ll need:  

  • Extensive senior sales leadership experience, preferably in the audio or media industry, with a strong understanding of both metro and regional WA markets.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans, driving growth and informed decision-making through market analysis and data.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, including coaching and mentoring high-performing media sales teams to success.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with a focus on maximizing value for clients and the business while delivering customer-centric solutions.
  • A robust local network and deep knowledge of the WA and interstate media landscape, enabling strong client relationships and business opportunities.
