Area Coordinator

The Area Coordinator (AC) is a twelve-month, live-in professional position in Residence Life. The AC will supervise (3) twelve-month full-time Residence Coordinators and support the supervision of 30+ para-professional (student) staff members.
Responsibilities also include oversight of approximately 1,100+ resident students in multiple residence hall facilities, residence hall facility management, and oversight of all administrative processes and procedures. Additionally, the Area Coordinator will work with the Central Staff on various departmental wide initiatives including but not limited to RA training and development, staff recruitment and selection, and housing operations and marketing.
The AC also participates in the on-call duty rotation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervision
- Supervise 3 full-time Residence Coordinators and support the supervision of 30+ RAs, which includes staff meetings, and regular one on one meetings with Residence Coordinators. Work with Residence Coordinators regarding their ongoing development and completion of their annual performance appraisal. Assist department in development of trainings and in-service meetings.

Adminstrative
- Manage monthly reports for the area, reporting data on programming, interactions, and occupancy. Understand all administrative expectations of the Resident Coordinator role and assist with those tasks at high-volume times. Maintain and ensure accuracy in housing occupancy throughout the academic year. Manage follow-up of work orders entered by in hall staff, communicate with Seton Hall Facilities and third-party vendors as appropriate to ensure prompt resolution of students’ needs in the residence halls. Assist with departmental projects and iniatives as requested including move in/move out, damage billing, and housing selection.

Programming
- Lead professional and student staff in development and implementation of programs which assist students with personal, academic, spiritual, and social skill development outside of the classroom. This may be done in collaboration with departments across campus. Oversee area-wide signature programming initiatives and support the department in other large-scale programming efforts.

Behavioral Intervention and Management
- Utilize student conduct software to input incident reports, send student conduct letters, assign appropriate charges and sanctions. Serve as a conduct officer for alleged student violations of the Student Code of Conduct.

Crisis Intervention
- Participate in on-call duty rotation including periods of time when the office is closed, weekends, and holidays. Respond to various student concerns and conduct incidents.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

1-3 years Residence Life experience
Master's Degree in Higher Education or related field.

Salary Range: $38,310 - $52,677

Exempt/Nonexempt: Nonexempt

Physical Demands: General Office Environment
