JOB SUMMARY

The Office of the Dean in the School of Health and Medical Sciences, located at the Interprofessional Health Sciences (IHS) campus in Nutley, NJ, is accepting applications for a part-time student worker to provide support to the administrative operations.   The work schedule is flexible and aligns with the general business hours of the University or periodic events that may occur in the evening or on the weekend. The work must be performed on campus and may include an average of 15 - 20 hours per week.

 

The successful candidate will need to complete a background check and sign a non-disclosure agreement related to the handling of sensitive materials.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The job duties may include assigned work tasks from the following categories:  

 

Duties & Responsibilities

General Clerical Tasks

•         Organize and maintain hard-copy documents or electronic files

•         Run errands around campus (drop-off and pick-up at various on-campus buildings)

•         Curate registration and student cohort lists for mixed uses

•         Assist with maintaining inventory of office materials/supplies

•         Scan/copy/fax materials, as needed

•         Communicate with faculty, staff, and administrators throughout Seton Hall

 

Admissions and Enrollment Management:

•         Interact with prospective students and applicants

•         Email correspondence

•         Database projects and related research

•         Promotional outreach and recruitment initiatives

•         Assist with campus tours, as needed

 

Special Events: 

•         Set-up, facilitate & break-down events, including transporting materials to/from various campus locations (at times physical labor is required and occasional evening and weekend hours required)

•         Communicate with vendors and campus partners during event-planning process

•         Represent Seton Hall and SHMS during events

•         Promote events to Seton Hall and external audiences

 

Public Relations and Marketing:

•         Research, write & edit promotional and informational materials

•         Website updates

•         Generate ideas and content for social media, including photography

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will be:

•         In good standing as a graduate student in a degree program within the School of Health and Medical Sciences at the IHS Campus at Seton Hall University

•         Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

•         Have excellent organizational skills

•         Able to use discretion and comply with expectations of handling sensitive materials

•         A self-starter and comfortable with initiating projects

•         Flexible and adaptable to a changing work environment

•         Friendly, yet professional, representing self in an upstanding manner

 

Federal Work Study Eligibility is not required
