Responsibilities:

  • -Filing, typing, mailings, clerical, assists with supplies, data entry, receptionist, answers phone and other tasks as assigned by the administrative staff, instructors, and advocates of the Upward Bound Program.
    -Attend supervision meetings & trainings (MANDATORY)
    -Provide administrative support as needed to the department office
    -Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding students files for all incoming applicants.
    -Ability to professionally discuss the program with perspective students and parents
    -Ability to provide tutoring to high school students in the areas of Math (Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, and Trigonometry) English, and the Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Science, and Anatomy & Physiology).
    -Complete and hand in all required paperwork (tutoring log, student sign-in-sheets, student assessment reports and other required documents).
    -Be responsible, flexible, take initiative, and have the ability to accept and problem solve challenges.
    -Be able to provide prompt, polite, courteous, professional, and timely customer service to students and parents.

Have 30 or more credits
-GPA of 3.0 or better
-At least two years of post-secondary education completed
-Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
-Strong organizational skills

 

Leadership qualities, time management, professionalism, critical thinking, conflict resolution, problem management, and the ability build and maintain professional relationships with staff and students and parents.
-Professional attitude, good written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, ability to stay self-motivated, and leadership skills to supervise peers are required.
-Competency in Microsoft Office Apps: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc. and Google Docs and Google Sheets.
-Ability to commit to a consistent schedule.

-Ability to work between 9:00AM-1:30PM on select Saturdays

-Must be Federal Work Study eligible.
