Campus Ministry Graduate Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities:

Administration

- Meets regularly with the Director and/or Associate Director of Campus     Ministry.
- Participates in the weekly staff check-in (“Captain’s Table”) and other       staff meetings.
- Prepares and distributes the Campus Ministry Weekly Newsletter (via        e-mail).
- Coordinates the training and scheduling of all Campus Ministry Work-       Studies.
- Coordinates task management of all Campus Ministry Work-Studies.
- Helps plan and participate in Campus Ministry presence at all              University Open Houses, Family Weekend, Pirate Preview, Orientation, Move-In Week, and Involvement Fairs.

Worship
- Assists the Director and/or Associate Director of Campus Ministry in        planning and coordinating regular Sunday Masses and special              University Liturgies.
- Recruits and schedules liturgical volunteers (i.e., Eucharistic Ministers,     Lectors, Altar Servers, Hospitality, etc.) for all Sunday Masses and           special University Liturgies.
- Present at Sunday evening Masses to ensure liturgical volunteers are       present.
- Assists with planning and executing any and all University Liturgies.

Discipleship
- Assists the Director of Discipleship with planning, promoting,                   organizing, and executing retreats, as needed.
- Assists the Brothers and Sisters of the Community of St. John (CSJ),       Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) Missionaries, and       Saint Paul’s Outreach (SPO) Missionaries in planning, promoting,              organizing, and executing programming and events, as needed.

Community
- Acts as the facilitator of the Student E-Board, assisting with creative       planning, organization, and student elections of members.
- Assists the Student E-Board in planning and coordinating Campus          Ministry Nights (Thursday Evenings, 8-10pm).
- Present at all Campus Ministry Nights.
- Assists with the planning and execution of major annual community-       building events, including, but not limited to: Christmas Party,                Halloween Party, Super Bowl Party, etc.

Service
- Remains in contact with the Director and/or Associate Director of the       Division of Volunteer Efforts (DOVE) to coordinate planning and             programming across the department.
- Helps coordinate planning and programming between DOVE and other     areas of the Department of Campus Ministry


Required Qualifications:

- Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, Publisher, Word,     R25, Banner.
- Skilled in using social and print media for marketing and promotional        purposes.
- Ability to write letters to outside constituents, fill out forms, etc.

Desired Qualifications:

- Major and/or educational experience in Theology, Religious Studies,         Catholic Studies, or some related field.
- Prior experience volunteering in or assisting with Campus Ministry           events and/or programming.
- Familiarity with the basic beliefs and practices of the Catholic Faith.
