The College of Veterinary Medicine, Mississippi State University, is seeking applications for the Director of Diagnostic Laboratory Services. This position is located in Starkville, MS.

Salary Grade:  UC

For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide oversight of the CVM diagnostic services including staff, equipment, and facility. This includes oversight of the laboratory manager, recruiting and hiring staff, staff evaluation, and other employee actions.
• Responsible for management of laboratory operations including workflow to achieve accurate and timely results.
• Meet financial goals of the lab, access and recommend fee changes, and modify/add/remove tests and laboratory procedures.
• Researches and recommends new equipment and procedures.
• Oversees all aspects of the quality and safety programs.
• Interacts with the State Animal Health Official in cases of reportable disease.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must have a DVM degree or equivalent with experience in diagnostic laboratory medicine, and Diplomate status in an AVMA recognized specialty Board.

Must be an MSU employee.

Demonstrated ability to work in teams..
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
