Employees hired into Intermittent positions are limited to working no more than 720 hours per fiscal year.

Salary Grade:  UC

Department Profile:

THIS JOB IS LOCATED AT THE BROWN LOAM EXPERIMENT STATION AT 1676 BROWN LOAM ROAD; RAYMOND, MS 39154.

Anticipated Appointment Date:

May 2024. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists professors and/or students with research and/or projects.
Operates farm equipment.
Performs general maintenance on buildings and grounds to include fences, gates, feed troughs, etc.
May prepare field for crops, maintains farm and pastureland for production.
Mows grass, weeds, paints, and cleans as directed.
Assists with farm animals.
May assist with land preparation, planting, cultivating, fertilizing, spraying, and harvesting of agronomic crops.
May assist with cleaning and servicing vehicles and equipment.
Performs related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma
Experience: None
Licenses: Must have valid driver’s license

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds.
