Position Function:
The Mississippi State University, College of Veterinary Medicine has an immediate opening for a tenure track faculty position in Small Animal Surgery. Teaching responsibilities will include didactic/clinical training for professional, graduate and technology students enrolled at the College of Veterinary Medicine and surgery resident preparation. Service responsibilities will be shared with four other surgeons, four current surgery residents, one surgery specialty intern and a team of veterinary technician, and will comprise small animal surgical management in a teaching hospital environment, including participation in the after-hours emergency service. Establishment of an active record of research and scholarly activity is expected.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent and be eligible for licensure in the state of Mississippi.

Preferred Qualifications:
Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Surgery is preferred, but individuals with other ACVS-recognized surgery board certification credentials, and residency-trained individuals eligible for final certification examination, will also be considered. An advanced degree and/or experience in clinical research are desirable.
