Position Function:
The Physician Assistant's Program at Mississippi State University's Meridian Campus invites applicants for a non-tenure track appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Teaching Professor with an anticipated start date of January 2025. This role will be responsible for teaching and advising students in the Master of Physician Assistant Studies Program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Participate in implementing, evaluating, and revising the didactic and clinical phase curriculum.
2. Participate in all aspects of the ARC-PA provisional accreditation process.
3. Serve as course director for assigned didactic courses. The Program Director assigns all
course directors.
4. Identify and instruct appropriate lecturers for didactic courses.
5. Instruct PA students in areas of knowledge and expertise.
6. Participate in academic advising of PA Students.
7. Participate in the admissions process.
8. Participate in laboratory instruction during the didactic and clinical phases of the
program.
9. Participate in student evaluation by grading written assignments, written examinations,
OSCEs, practical skill competencies, oral presentations, or other assessment methods.
10. Participate in faculty meetings, retreats, and committees as assigned.
11. Maintain NCCPA certification and/or medical license.
12. Participate in appropriate local, state, and national physician assistant professional
associations.
13. Participate in clinical practice or research activities depending on position. To be
determined by the department Program Director.
14. Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity to be a role model for PA
students.
15. Active Involvement in community service and/or service learning associated with the
program.
16. Serve as Program Coordinator for the identification, planning, implementation, and
review of program-sponsored service projects.
17. Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
Degree from an accredited program for the respective medical provider field of practice (such as PA, MD, or DO).
Board certified for the respective medical provider field or practice.
Licensed or eligible for licensure in Mississippi for the respective medical provider field or practice.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in the medical field or education with teaching experience.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort
1. Work is primarily in a classroom setting. Some clinical instruction is required.
2. Exposure to physical risk and physical effort as expected in a clinical setting.
