Position Function:
Provides high-level administrative support to the football coaching staff as assigned in support of the defensive initiatives of the football program at Mississippi State University.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Using past playing and coaching experience to offer insight as to any improvements we can incorporate into our football program.
2. Scout football team's in-season games.
3. Break down game film and provide full statistical analysis of defense and kicking game.
4. Scout football team's practices in fall, spring and in-season.
5. Provide statistical analysis of defense.
6. Responsible for organizing Defensive Recruiting Board and maintaining regular contact with Defensive Recruits including being with them the entirety of their Official and Unofficial Visits.
7. Position is intended to groom for on field assisting coaching position if there is attrition to our staff to maintain continuity.
8. Perform other duties assigned by the Head Football Coach and Associate Athletic Director for Football.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in related field
- Experience: 5 years
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to function independently solving problems and making decisions.
• Ability to prioritize and schedule work for efficient operations.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekends.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel extensively.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
• Frequent externally imposed deadlines; set and revised beyond one's control; interruptions influence priorities; difficult to anticipate nature or volume of work with certainty beyond a few days; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to position; involves conflict-resolution or similar interactions involving emotional issues or stress on a regular basis.
• No unusual physical requirements. Requires occasional or light lifting, nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility.
• Job occasionally requires standing, walking, sitting, reaching,
stooping/kneeling/crouching/ crawling, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
