We are seeking a motivated individual to serve as a program manager within the Global Center for Aquatic Health and Food Security (GCAHFS) at MSU. The desired individual will work closely with the GCAHFS administration to coordinate projects and activities as well as provide programmatic support for the effective function of the GCAHFS.

Salary Grade:  15

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides programmatic oversight and support for research projects as assigned.
• Participates in the development and implementation of unit programs and projects consistent with unit objectives, contractual agreements, and/or funding availability.
• Develops and implements systems to maintain records ensuring compliance with university, state, and federal policies and regulations.
• Monitors and reports progress of subawards and child accounts funded under GCAHFS, including support for development and monitoring of milestones for fixed price agreements.
• Develops comprehensive program reports.
• International travel is expected to support projects.
• Develops summary reports, conducts analysis for administrators, and makes recommendations regarding findings.
• Studies, analyzes, and recommends procedures and processes in order to improve continuity and simplify reporting throughout the unit.
• May participate in development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, objectives, and/or short- and long-term planning.
• May assist with maintaining unit website and/or social media.
• Assists in managing complex events calendar for unit and senior personnel and coordinating logistics of unit functions and events.
• Assists in coordinating and managing travel for unit personnel using University travel software and ensuring adherence to University travel protocols.
• Performs miscellaneous job duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Veterinary Sciences, Agriculture, Life Sciences, or other degrees related to this position.

Experience: 3 years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Veterinary Sciences, Agriculture, Life Sciences, or other degrees related to this position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience with software, such as:
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Adobe
Shared resources (Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Dropbox, etc.)
Ability to coordinate a wide variety of tasks and projects simultaneously and prioritize work functions with attention to details.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
Must be honest, dependable and able to meet deadlines.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and experience handling sensitive information.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

• Experience with project management and working in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working with project management software, such as Asana.
• Ability to configure software applications to meet specific needs and integrate software systems to enhance data transfer and extraction.
• Ability to liaise with information system developers to customize software for specific center needs.
• Ability to integrate data from different sources to enable comprehensive analysis, and ability to create necessary forms to capture data from various stakeholders.
• Experience with maintaining data accuracy and generating data visualization.
• Knowledge and understanding of MSU policies and procedures, including knowledge of Concur and Banner systems, travel policies and procedures, and purchasing guidelines.
• Ability to excel in working with multiple countries and cultures.
