Position Function:

Training Extension Early Childhood Coaches in the use and delivery of the Business Administration Scale (BAS), Classroom Assessment Scoring Scale (CLASS), Brigance and other evaluation and assessment tools as they may arise in program delivery.
Provide direction, management, and oversight of CLASS, BAS, and Brigance assessments and reliability of Extension Early Childhood Coaches.

Salary Grade:  14

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following examples are intended as illustrations only of the various types of duties assigned in positions allocated to this classification. 1. Assess and analyze data to identify trends to enhance training for Extension Early Childhood Coaches to deliver to family-home providers.
2. Coordinates collection of data from pre and post assessments.
3. Establishes and maintains reliability on the assessment tools among program staff.
4. Maintain professional and cooperative relationships with staff and participants.
5. Maintain professional and cooperative relationships with county staff and administration.
6. Demonstrate exceptional written, listening and oral communication skills.
7. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines given by immediate supervisor.
8. Perform any related duties as assigned.
9. Continue professional development education per program and University guidelines to consist of BAS, CLASS, Brigance . . .

• Project Manager

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Child and Family Development, Early Childhood, Social Work, or a related field.
Experience: Three (3) years’ experience related to described duties.
Substitution: An equivalent combination of related experience and/or education approved by the Department of Human Resources Management.
Licensures: Valid Driver’s License and the ability to travel as required during performance of assigned tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Master’s Degree in Child and Family Development, Early Childhood, Social Work, or a related field.
2. Two (2) years’ experience directly related to the described duties and/or responsibilities specified.
3. Or, any equivalent combination of related experience and/or education approved by the Department of Human Resources Management.
4. Experience working with parents and families.
5. Knowledge of CLASS, BAS, Brigance, and any Environment Rating Scale.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Ability to use technology and experience with Microsoft Office software suite. Interviewed candidates will have to demonstrate their ability to use software to create a PowerPoint presentation on a assessment training or data report
2. Ability to work with and adapt research materials for educational use which can be effectively communicated orally and/or in writing.
3. Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills.
4. Demonstrated ability to work as a team player.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

1. Ability to travel out of local area. Overnight travel will be required. Use of personal car required.
2. Irregular hours may be anticipated; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to this position.
3. Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands.
4. Job requires standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
5. Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
6. Adhere to all University policies and procedures.
7. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
8. Background check will be conducted prior to offer being extended.
