Position Function:
Under the direction of the Executive Director for Communication and Donor Relations, the Communication Specialist is responsible for managing digital media projects and producing small video features for the division.
Salary Grade: 14

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist in developing strategies for utilizing digital media for marketing, solicitations, and news to meet the goals and objectives of the division
2. Work with division staff on their focused area for projects needed with digital media content
3. Work with the communication team with ensuring brand awareness and consistent messaging for the division
4. Responsible for producing small project videos for the division such as the monthly e-newsletters, scholarship profile videos, social media videos, etc.
5. Create, manage and publish graphics and content for digital signage at The Mill
6. Manage emails and web-based online communication system
7. Manage and create content for the division’s websites
8. Produce web and email analytics
9. Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in communication or a related field
2. Familiarity with Web-based communication usage and styles
3. Experience in video production and basic editing software
4. Two years of directly related experience

Any equivalent combination of related experience and/or education approved by the Department of Human Resources Management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Strong writing skills
2. Background in broadcasting
3. Knowledge of graphic design techniques and software
4. Ability to prioritize competing demand and to meet deadlines
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies

• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment

• No or very limited physical effort required
