Position Function:
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to join Dr. Montiel research group in the Department of Chemistry at Mississippi State University. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research.
Salary Grade: UC

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, plan and execute experiments for the achievement of the project’s goals. – Write the experimental parts and draft manuscripts for submission of at least 4 manuscripts acknowledging the CAREER project. – Advise graduate and undergraduate students in Montiel lab. – Organize, maintain and keep the instrumentation and consumables of the lab in collaboration with Dr. Zamora.
Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in synthetic inorganic chemistry and skills in the handling of very air sensitive compounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in synthetic inorganic chemistry and skills in the handling of very air sensitive compounds with experience in heterobimetallic complexes, catalysis and chemical kinetics.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Inorganic and organometallic chemistry and catalysis. Skilled in the handling of air sensitive compounds, glove boxes and Schlenk lines.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Regularly involves lifting and bending. Often exposed to one or more elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc.
