Work with the Director of Graduate Admissions and Enrollment Marketing to coordinate,
develop, and execute marketing and communication strategies for the purpose of recruiting
graduate students to Mississippi State University.

Salary Grade:  15

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Represents MSU at conferences, meetings, and other official programs
2. Oversee, manage, and supervise the Coordinator of Graduate Recruitment and
Communications and the Graduate Assistants.
3. Contribute to the development of marketing strategies and communication plans for
undergraduate students and non-traditional students.
4. Execute various print and electronic campaigns in support of the overall communication plan for prospective students.
5. Draft and design ad hoc correspondence.
6. Oversee the development, execution, and management of Slate email and SMS campaigns
7. Oversee the production of Graduate School newsletter.
8. Maintain Graduate School website.
9. Develop web and print content using videography and photography.
10. Work with the Graduate Student Development Coordinator to execute communications for campus events.
11. Maintain and update publications and supply inventory related to the communication plan.
12. Work with the Director to coordinate the process of publishing the pieces used for student recruitment and marketing.
13. Work with the Director to develop strategy for electronic messaging to prospective
students.
14. Oversee social media presence
15. Maintain a current understanding and expertise related to emerging trends, technologies and best practices in higher education, admissions, and marketing.
16. Work with the office of Public Affairs to ensure all branding and visual identity standards are met.
17. Work with ITS to ensure web and social media presence is ADA compliant.
18. Analyze data to evaluate effectiveness of communication and recruitment efforts
19. Serve as the liaison with vendors to enhance marketing strategies.
20. Assist the Director with the implementation of recruitment events.
21. Participate in recruitment activities including grad fairs, virtual events, and speaking
engagements
22. Implement new marketing strategies to increase new graduate student enrollment.
23. Serve on university marketing and communication committees as needed.
24. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Graduate Admissions and Enrollment Management.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree; Communications, Marketing, Student Success, Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, or related field

Experience (yrs): Two years directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Master's degree
2. Expertise in a variety of software programs including graphic design programs and content management programs
3. Understanding of the printing process, photography skills, videography skills, knowing the differences and requirements of for both print and web mediums
4. Expertise in website development and maintenance

1. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
2. Excellent administrative, organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills, including
experience in supervision
3. Well-developed interpersonal, teamwork, verbal, and written communication skills
4. Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity
5. Demonstrated ability to manage/coordinate multiple tasks at a high level.
6. Independent self-starter with strong work ethic.
7. Highly organized and detailed oriented.
8. Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

1. Frequent- External imposed deadlines; set and revised beyond one's control; interruptions influence priorities; difficult to anticipate nature or volume of work with certainty beyond a few days; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to position
2. Some travel may be required to attend recruitment events
3. No or very limited physical effort required.
4. No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
5. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
