Lead the fan experience efforts for Mississippi State athletic events with an objective of creating a dynamic and best-in-class gameday environment while enhancing fan satisfaction, connection, and loyalty.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Lead all aspects of the in-game presentation and production for home sporting events including the execution of promotions, music, public address reads, and videoboard features.
  2. Serve as the primary game producer for Mississippi State Football and Baseball, while providing oversight for Basketball and all other in-venue productions. 
  3. Develop full-season promotional plans to garner awareness, excitement, and attendance for both ticketed and non-tickets sports, including campaigns targeted toward student body population.
  4. Collaborate with the marketing team on strategies to drive ticket sales, revenue, and engagement to ensure goals in each area are met and exceeded.
  5. Provide ideation and execution of in-game sponsored elements solicited by Learfield/Bulldog Sports Properties that enhance revenue and fan engagement.
  6. Continually evaluate and innovate all aspects of the gameday experience including the use of fan surveys and analysis.
  7. Ensure maintenance and performance of in-venue digital systems and technology including related software and controls.
  8. Collaborate with licensing, retail, and concessions partners on opportunities to enhance product awareness, increase engagement, and drive top-line revenue. 
  9. Provide leadership for Starkville and greater Mississippi community outreach efforts in addition to special athletics and campus events such as Super Bulldog Weekend, Bulldog Bash, Homecoming, Parents Weekend, Cowbell Yell, and Maroon Madness.
  10. Ensure success and development of Fan Experience student internship program.
  11. Perform related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will supervise both full-time and part-time staff members including Fan Experience student interns. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, or related field with 3 years of experience; proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in sports administration, sports marketing, public relations, or related field.
• Five years of experience in collegiate athletic marketing, or related field
• Previous experience leading and managing full-time staff.
• Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
• Highly organized and ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines
• Strong initiative to solve problems
• Extraordinary focus on customer service
• Willing to work in a team atmosphere where expectations are set and managed while giving staff flexibility to do their assigned task as both a leader and/or a follower
• Ability to work long hours, including nights and weekends
• Ability to hire, train, and terminate full-time staff, interns, game day staff, volunteers, and student assistants
• Ability to manage budgets
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

• Frequent interruptions based on changing priorities; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
• Work hours are unpredictable and may require nights and weekends
• Limited exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc., but none to the point of being disagreeable.
• May involve minor safety hazards where likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc.
• Job frequently requires walking, standing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, and handling objects with hands.
• Job occasionally requires light lifting of up to 25 pounds.
• Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
