The Assistant Director of Broadcast Operations will be primarily responsible for directing and technical directing broadcasts across various ESPN and SEC Network platforms in addition to assisting in-venue video board productions.

Salary Grade:  14

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Direct and technical direct live broadcasts across linear and digital ESPN and SEC Network platforms.
2. Assist in-venue video board productions for home sporting events in collaboration with the Fan Experience team.
3. Assist in training students and intermittent workers on production equipment, systems, and processes. 
4. Assist Broadcast Technology department lead in preventative maintenance of production equipment.
5. Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Communication, Telecommunication and Film or Journalism with one (1) to two (2) years of experience in related field as a director and/or technical director in a broadcast production environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of fiber optics as it relates to video production.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Requires knowledge of current live production hardware including Ross Video Switchers, Ross Xpression Graphics System and Evertz Dreamcatcher Replay System. 
Experience with Daktronics video boards and Show Control.
Knowledge of video editing software recognized as industry standards such as Adobe Premiere Pro. 
Excellent organizational skills to handle the volume and variety of projects for which they must be accomplished. 
Ability to meet deadlines, follow priorities and schedule work on several projects at once.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Job occasionally requires standing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting to 40 pounds.
Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and work long hours.
Frequent-External imposed deadlines, set and revised beyond one’s control; interruptions influence priorities; difficult to anticipate nature or volume of work with certainty beyond a few days; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to position; involves conflict-resolution or similar interactions involving emotional issues or stress on a regular basis.
Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
