The CVM Admissions & Outreach Manager serves under the administrative supervision of the
Assistant Dean for Admissions and Student Success within the Office of Admissions and
Student Success.

Salary Grade:  15

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Manage and oversee maintenance of a portfolio of DVM and early entry admissions
applications.
2. Collaborate with academic and administrative units in the college and the MSU
campus (Office of the Registrar, MSU Career Center, Admissions, Financial Aid &
Scholarships, Housing, etc.)
3. Address and refer inquires and informational requests from faculty, students, and
parents or guardians.
4. Maintain relations with high schools, academies, community/ junior colleges, and other
universities.
5. Maintain relations with MSU Information Technology Services to ensure the data
integration between Slate and WebAdmit operates smoothly.
6. Collaborate with Liaison support service to resolve any issues arising from the
WebAdmit, and utilize their services, if needed, to ensure issues are addressed in a
timely manner.
7. Maintain traditional and early entry applications, ensuring proper functionality and
making changes when necessary.
8. Manage and maintain all inquiry and application data imports and exports.
9. Train admissions staff and committee on admissions processes including the CRM’s
system’s use and capabilities as well as ensuring efficient handling of inquiries and
applications
10. Develop and maintain a robust communication plan and workflow for prospective
DVM applicants.
11. Manage and enhance CVM outreach programs such as veterinary camp and Open
House; engaging prospective students and strengthening relationships with key
stakeholders, including 4-H, FFA, and other similar organizations
12. Collaborate with MSU departments to develop and update marketing materials and
website content to attract prospective students
13. Other responsibilities deemed appropriate (e.g., grantsmanship for recruiting and
scholarships)
14. Perform related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position supervises other staff positions within the office

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree Agriculture, Life Sciences, Natural Resources, or other degrees related to this position
Two or more years of progressively responsible experience working with CRMs and other technical programs

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Agriculture, Life Sciences, Natural Resources, Student Affairs, or other related degree to this position

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Experience working with students, parents, or guardians, academic administrators, and
faculty
Ability to develop strategic initiatives and priorities for a team or unit
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public speaking experience
Demonstrated interpersonal skills
Ability to analyze and interpret data necessary for critical decisions and strategic
direction
Commitment to and a record of excellence in customer service
Ability to coordinate a wide variety of tasks and projects simultaneously and prioritize
work functions
Advanced knowledge of CRMs, databases, and software

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

No unusual physical requirements. Requires no heavy lifting, and nearly all work is
performed in a comfortable indoor facility.

Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and
predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; involves occasional
exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.

Job frequently requires sitting, handling objects with hands.
Job occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 10
pounds.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
