Salary Grade:  08

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Check handbills against freight to be delivered. Load freight on trucks and deliver to departments. Pick up outgoing freight. Unload incoming freight and visually inspect condition. Perform routine maintenance on trucks and equipment. Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to read and write. Valid driver's license. Eligible for liability insurance. Ability to lift, move, and load heavy, bulky objects. Highschool Diploma or Any equivalent combination of related experience and/or education approved by the Department of Human Resources Management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately check handbills against freight and visually inspect the condition of incoming freight.
Physical Stamina: Capability to perform physically demanding tasks such as loading and unloading freight.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in performing routine maintenance on trucks and equipment.
Abilities:
Time Management: Ability to efficiently manage time to ensure timely delivery and pick-up of freight.
Communication: Effective communication skills to coordinate with departments and report any issues or discrepancies.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures when loading or unloading freight.
