This Center for Cyber Education (CCE) position will be responsible for the management of a remote internship program, Workforce Scholars Initiative (WSI), designed to provide students with an opportunity to gain work experience in a supervised environment on the MSU Starkville campus. Job functions to include creating a marketing plan, managing timelines, recruiting companies, coordinating student recruitment and training, and monitoring program performance. Additionally, this person will work as part of the CCE Professional Learning Team and assist with the management and execution of K-12 teacher professional development related to computer science, cybersecurity, and AI. This person will also be expected to help support STEM and cyber outreach events hosted by the CCE. The ideal candidate will be a good communicator who is creative and passionate about helping others learn new technologies.

Salary Grade:  15

The Mississippi State University (MSU) Center for Cyber Education (CCE) is dedicated to advancing the field of computing education. The CCE is committed to providing guidance on comprehensive academic and career technical education (CTE) computing curriculum, leading professional development for educators, and conducting outreach initiatives that span from K-12 education to post-secondary programs and community workforce training. Our mission is to equip students, educators, and professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. Our mission is accomplished through incredible partnerships with industry leaders, non-profit organizations, state and federal agencies, 2- and 4-year institutions around the country, and other department and centers across the MSU campus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•Creates and executes a marketing recruitment plan for WSI.
•Oversee the creation of WSI marketing material (brochures, email campaigns, social media) to recruit students and businesses.
•Highlights success stories that promote the merits of the WSI.
•Communicate regularly with participating WSI businesses partners.
•Coaches and supports college students employed in the WSI program.
•Works with other academic and non-academic units to achieve WSI program goals and outcomes.
•Assists in WSI program accountability to the project funding agency
•Develops and leads meetings, training workshops and presentations in online and face-to-face environments.
•Stay up to date with the latest computer science, cybersecurity, and AI technologies and trends.
•Assists with the management of the CCE online academy program.
•Coordinates and assists with professional development programs on implementation of statewide curriculum frameworks and other related topics.
•Assist the CCE Professional Learning Team with all training initiatives as needed.
•All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree

Three years of directly related to the job duties and responsibilities specified

Preferred Qualifications:

•Experience teaching Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or Computer Science (STEM) at the K-12 level.
•Experience working in an academic environment.
•Proficient with Microsoft 365, Google Suite, and AI Tools.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

•Experience teaching in K-12, higher education, and/or postsecondary education.
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
•Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies
•Ability to innovate and work as both a team member and team leader.
•Strong ability to work autonomously and independently to manage projects.
•Experience mentoring and influencing others to accomplish tasks and meeting deadlines.
•Experience with making presentations and leading meetings. Ability to organize
and coordinate projects and prepare a written plan with objectives, actions, milestones, budgets, timelines, success measurements, and assessment.
•Experience creating a course in an LMS.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

•Some physical effort required in lifting boxes (up to 25lbs), transporting materials, and setting up workshops.
•No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
•Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
•Considerable travel involved.
•Fast-paced work environment requiring lots of flexibility to pivot as needed.
