Position Function:
The Assistant Director of Student Services – Honor Code is an integral member of the Dean of Students' team and will contribute to many aspects of the office. The Assistant Director specifically administers the day to day operations of the Student Honor Code Office. The successful candidate will support the core values of the Division of Students Affairs and perform duties associated with the traditional role of Dean of Students’ Office, including conduct, care and advocacy for students, parents and families.
Salary Grade: 15

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Director of the Student Honor Code with the overall operations, including the adjudication process of formal hearings, while serving as the primary adjudicator for administrative hearings.
2. Oversee the management of Maxient (Student Accountability Database) including its trainings, operation and outsource to other departments.
3. Supervise and provide direction to Honor Code staff
4. Direct the recruitment, training and coordination of the Student Honor Code Council while serving as the representative for Mississippi State University.
5. Serve as departmental liaison with academic units in the outward promotion of academic integrity including presentations, website development, and other initiatives.
6. Coordinate and deliver training on Student Honor Code procedures to faculty.
7. Develop and manage communication efforts related to the Student Honor Code for students, including campus-wide outreach, educational events, and presentations.
8. Monitors, analyzes, and reports academic integrity data, assessing current trends and intervention strategies.
9. Coordinate background checks for students both internal and external, as required for university operations.
10. Serve as an advocate for student needs by maintaining an “open door” policy in assuring that the services of the Dean of Students Office are accessible to all students and families.
11. Works collaboratively with the campus community as a student advocate.
12. Assist the Dean of Students’ Office in event and program management.
13. Serve on a variety of internal and external committees and task forces
14. Assist the Director of Student Conduct with the administration of the Student Code of Conduct
15. Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Education: Masters Degree
Minimum Experience: Two years experience in Higher Education or related field working with student conduct and complaint resolution
Preferred Qualifications:
Maxient proficiency, housing and residence life, or behavioral intervention or any equivalent combination or experience and/or education approved by the Human Resources Department

6. Comfortable and confident presenting to large groups, with the ability to tailor messaging to audience needs and deliver engaging, informative sessions.
7. Deep understanding of service excellence principles, with a proactive approach to addressing needs, resolving concerns, and enhancing stakeholder satisfaction.
8. Experienced in using computers and web-based applications, including data management systems, communication platforms, and productivity tools to support operational efficiency.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Requires light lifting of items for outreach events. Majority of all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility with an exception of outreach events. Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands. Job requires standing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting up to 20 pounds.
