Position Function:
The Assistant Director of Business Operations supports the Athletics Business Office (ABO) by ensuring the accurate and compliant processing of daily operations in the Business Office (procurement card, procurement, purchase orders, direct pay, reconciliations). The position works closely with internal Athletics coaches and staff and the Controller’s Office, while also providing broad financial processing support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Process and reconcile departmental procurement card transactions, including but not limited to, approving and reconciling transactions.
2. Assist with management of Bully Buy, ProCard, and Direct Pay processing and reconciliation.
3. Serve as a liaison with cross campus units (Controller’s Office & Campus Travel Office).
4. Ensure financial transactions comply with university, state, and NCAA regulations, maintaining proper documentation and audit trails.
5. Assist in financial system improvements and workflow efficiencies related to procurement and travel.
6.Assist with cash deposits:
o Cash receipt vouchers
o Assist with deposits
7. Assist in preparing monthly and annual accounting reports, including statements and summaries related to procurement and travel transactions.
8. Participate in year-end closeout procedures , providing support for all financial entries.
9. Maintain financial records and support documentation for audits and compliance reviews.
10. Assist with special projects as assigned.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
May include supervising student workers and interns.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Administration, Sports Management or other business related field with one (1) year of experience in collegiate athletics, professional sports, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accountancy, Public Administration, or Sports Administration.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
3. Three or more years of related experience.
4. Demonstrated ability to explain, advocate, and express facts and ideas in a convincing manner.
5. Proven ability to demonstrate strong communication skills, both orally and written.
6. Strong interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse group of constituents.
7. Strong critical-thinking skills and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Ability to prepare financial reports
2. Knowledge of payroll policies and procedures
3. Knowledge of university accounting procedures involving procurement, travel and/or employment.
4. Ability to perform accounting procedures.
5. Ability to analyze and solve problems.
6. Knowledge of cash management principles and/or procedures.
7. Account reconciliation skills.
8. Ability to use Microsoft Office suite.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
• No or very limited physical effort required.
• No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
