The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Mississippi State University invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. Successful candidates will be expected to conduct research, teaching, and service programs.

Salary Grade:  UC

For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.

Department Profile:

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is one of eight academic departments in the Bagley College of Engineering. The Department offers ABET-accredited undergraduate programs in ECE. It also offers graduate studies leading to M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Programs are offered in Starkville, MS Gulf Coast, and Online campuses. The Department is composed of 614 undergraduates, 131 graduate students (70% PhD seeking), 29 faculty members (including 6 endowed professorships, 4 IEEE Fellows), and 7 staff members. Faculty members have developed a strong research program spanning the areas of computer systems, microelectronics, communications, electromagnetics, signal processing, machine learning, remote sensing, power, controls, high voltage, and engineering education. The Department houses the largest university operated high voltage laboratory in North America and is home to the NSF Advance Wireless Testbed - AERPAW. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Research: Perform and publish research, obtain research grants/contracts with the federal government and private industry.
Teaching: Teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, advise undergraduate students; guide graduate students in thesis and dissertations, support the undergraduate and graduate educational programs.
Service: Provide service to the unit, to the research community, and to the profession.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates are expected to hold a Ph.D. in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related field. The rank will be at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with an established or competitive record of peer-reviewed publications, demonstrated potential or success in securing external research funding, and experience in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong communications and writing skills and the ability to function affectively in a team environment is required.

Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment.

Limited physical effort required.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
