Position Function:
This position is for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track lecturer position to teach required courses for the electrical and computer engineering degree programs, with emphasis on first year and capstone design courses. This instructor must also provide support for the department’s ABET data collection efforts related to design.

Department Profile:
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is one of eight academic departments in the Bagley College of Engineering. The Department offers ABET-accredited undergraduate programs in ECE. It also offers graduate studies leading to M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Programs are offered in Starkville, MS Gulf Coast, and Online campuses. The Department is composed of 614 undergraduates, 131 graduate students (70% PhD seeking), 29 faculty members (including 6 endowed professorships, 4 IEEE Fellows), and 7 staff members. Faculty members have developed a strong research program spanning the areas of computer systems, microelectronics, communications, electromagnetics, signal processing, machine learning, remote sensing, power, controls, high voltage, and engineering education. The Department houses the largest university operated high voltage laboratory in North America and is home to the NSF Advance Wireless Testbed - AERPAW. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Teach first-year design courses.
2. Teach capstone design courses.
3. Assist with ABET data collection related to design courses.
4. Coordinate with other ECE design instructors.
Minimum Qualifications:
M.S. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching engineering or ECE design at the university level. Design experience in an industrial or governmental setting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of best practices in teaching, including implementing active learning strategies
• Knowledge of engineering design and troubleshooting for ECE design projects
• Ability to mentor undergraduate and graduate student teaching assistants
• Knowledge of learning management systems, such as Canvas
• Excellent organizational and teaming skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to advise and mediate teams through times of conflict
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented
• Experience using common software and hardware design tools
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment.
Limited exposure to physical work.
