Position Function:
Under direction of the Associate Director, this position’s primary responsibility is providing leadership for alumni engagement programs. Oversees and directs a portfolio of alumni association engagement events and programs. Provides leadership for Alumni Delegates student organization, and Alumni Engagement Benchmarking/Scoring.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Serves as adviser to the Alumni Delegates program, overseeing the recruitment and selection process and providing leadership, guidance and mentorship
2. Coordinates Student and Young Alumni programs including event planning and management, communicating with recipients, and working with divisional staff
3. Oversees a portfolio of Alumni Association events and programs that serve to continue to grow and foster engagement with our alumni base
4. Utilizes software specific to alumni engagement strategies
5. Oversees, develops, and reports Alumni Association Engagement surveying strategy to assess events and programs effectiveness as it relates to alumni engagement
6. Participates in regular professional development opportunities
7. Provides leadership in reporting and data capture for benchmarking and engagement scoring, program surveying and assessment for Association for programs under purview
8. All other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibility:
The position reports to the Associate Director. This position has no supervisory responsibilities but may give general instructions to subordinate student employees.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field
Experience (yrs): 3 years directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
Position requires occasional travel and occasional work outside of normal business hours. A valid driver's license is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree
- Experience in event management, alumni relations, or nonprofit organization at a coordinator level or above
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with effective public speaking skills
- Ability to independently perform high quality work following well-defined policies and procedures while simultaneously performing in a team environment
- Ability to initiate and follow through to completion special projects and/or assignments taking an idea from conception to implementation
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of MSU
- Must be able to engage in multiple tasks simultaneously
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
- Job requires walking, standing, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands, and lifting up to 25 pounds
- Frequent- External imposed deadlines; set and revised beyond one’s control; interruptions influence priorities; difficult to anticipate nature or volume of work with certainty beyond a few days; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to position; involves conflict-resolution or similar interactions involving emotional issues or stress on a regular basis
- Vision requirements: ability to see information in print and/or electronically
- Position requires occasional travel for conferences and work outside of normal business hours including evenings and weekends
