Work will be performed in lab here at College of Veterinary Medicine in Starkville, MS

Employees hired into Intermittent positions are limited to working no more than 720 hours per fiscal year.

Salary Grade:  UC

Area of Specialization:

Sample Receiving Lab - PPM

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist with general office duties, including organizing workspaces and supporting staff as needed.
Answer incoming phone calls, take accurate messages, and direct inquiries to the appropriate personnel, including the Sample Receiving Technician.
Greet visitors in a professional manner and provide basic information or direct them to the appropriate department.
File documents and maintain organized records, including temperature charts and other administrative logs.
Run errands and deliver materials within the school or facility as required.
Assist with receiving, unboxing, and sorting incoming mail and packages.
Transport laboratory samples between Sample Receiving and various labs while following proper handling procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have a minimum of a high school diploma

Must be able to work 11/12-5pm, must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs, must be comfortable with Necropsy Specimen

Preferred Qualifications:

College degree

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent telephone and email communication skills, especially related to client service.
Must be capable of working in a team environment comprised of doctors, staff, and students to provide veterinary care of patients and aid in the instruction of veterinary students and veterinary technology students.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands. Job requires standing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
