The Research Associate will be dedicated to the successful implementation and execution of a 5-year project aimed at investigating the climate impact of conservation agriculture practices, primarily cover cropping. The incumbent will collect greenhouse gas emission data from on-farm locations across the Mississippi Delta and assist with collecting and analyzing soil samples and crop data. This full-time Research Associate position is based at the National Center for Alluvial Aquifer Research at the Delta Research and Extension Center, Stoneville, MS. The individual must be able to assume responsibility, carry out directed research, work independently with minimal supervision, and work cooperatively with other team members and collaborators. Because the research activities of this project will be conducted primarily on producer fields, a friendly, open-minded, and respectful attitude towards crop producers and farm personnel is essential.
