The Department of Wildlife, Fisheries & Aquaculture seeks a Research Associate to help deploy and maintain a network of Motus stations to support research focused on migratory bird movements, including riparian corridors. The Research Associate will coordinate and support a regional migratory bird tracking and community engagement initiative using the Motus Wildlife Tracking System. This position will oversee installation, monitoring, and maintenance of Motus tower stations across Mississippi; assist with avian capture and tagging efforts; manage data compilation and transfer; and coordinate outreach and workshop activities that promote public engagement in avian conservation.

The MSU Deer Lab is seeking a postdoctoral researcher for white-tailed deer ecology and management. Their primary focus will be research to mitigate deer depredation on row crops, but they will also work with long-term datasets, including statewide harvest records, statewide health-check data, GPS radio-collar data, and more. The individual will be supervised by Dr. Jacob Dykes and will be expected to collaborate with a large team of PIs, graduate students, and technicians.

The Shelter Program at Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking to hire an Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor to join the team of 5 faculty members, 1 rehire retiree, and 3 technicians. The Shelter Medicine Program provides a spay/neuter services to 25+ shelters and rescue groups in Mississippi. The Shelter Program also provides shelter visits for third year veterinary students to perform basic physical examinations, health maintenance evaluations, and population level recommendations for the shelter. The Shelter program also provides training to graduated veterinarians on assessing professional students and veterinarians. The funding for this position is associated with the Nutramax Veterinary Education Training Program. The position is supported by gift funding provided annually for up to five years from Nutramax with the possibility of renewable after the current agreement expires. It will be a 100% soft money-funded position with a one-year renewable contract that can be renewed for up to five years. This position will serve as the Digital Forensics Analyst Technical Lead for the MCI facility at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. In this role, the individual has responsibility for managing the Digital Forensics Lab (DFL) associated with the MCI facility. Including configuration/installation/operations of existing forensics hardware and software, the primary person in assisting other Law Enforcement (LE) partnered agencies in conducting digital forensics analysis, coordinator between agency partners, responsible for on-site development, implementation quality assurance, and management of the DFL environment and associated systems. The candidate will assess and develop policies and procedures governing the MCI DFL and assist the site's senior technical advisor in gathering data analytics, contract, and budget activities related to the DFL.
