The role
Join our Research team and contribute to their mission of developing new algorithms and techniques to optimise our GPU compiler for graphics, compute and AI.
You will explore, adapt, refine and transform our GPU compilers, finding novel and high impact improvements that increase performance whilst reducing power and area usage.
You will:
- Research and develop state of the art compiler techniques using AI and other approaches to optimise our next generations of GPU systems.
- Interact with colleagues in multiple engineering teams as part of your research.
- Assist in creating specifications for graphics systems hardware and software.
- Work in a friendly and enthusiastic Research Team and report directly to the Head of Research in the Office of the CTO.
About you

You'll have:
- A first or upper second B.Sc. or B.Eng. in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or Mathematics.
- Good knowledge of compiler techniques for graphics, compute or AI.
- Have worked in industry for at least 3 years.
- Knowledge of GPU architecture e.g. memory management, caching.
- The practical ability to investigate ideas and turn them into testable proof-of-concept implementations through hands-on coding.
- Good relevant Computer Science and Maths skills, i.e. the ability to reason abstractly about algorithms, eg those in graph theory.
- A passionate willingness to further advance your knowledge and skills.
You might also have:
- A higher degree, MSc, MEng or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or Mathematics.
- Knowledge of GPU hardware and software stack.
- A strong interest in AI algorithms and techniques.
- A proven research mindset – we care about innovation and research.
