The Department of English invites applications for a 3-year Visiting Assistant Professor, beginning fall term 2024. We are seeking dynamic teachers with demonstrated experience designing courses about literature, cultural studies, or film/television.
Visiting Assistant Professors in English teach 4 classes per semester, with a typical class size of about 18 students. The teaching load will be divided between courses in our major and for our general education program. Our department faculty enjoy considerable freedom to design courses around topics of their choice and to craft innovative assignments; we look forward to welcoming a colleague with similar opportunities to be creative in their teaching.
Visiting Assistant Professors are not required to do research and have limited service requirements, but have full access to faculty development opportunities, including support from our Endeavour Center for Teaching and Learning and grants for travel and professional development.
