Job Summary:
|
The Assistant Volleyball Coach reports to the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach and is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in carrying out all activities necessary to accomplish the objectives of this sport within the guidelines of the NCAA, Sunshine State Conference and Rollins College.
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate activities through the Head Women’s Coach.
- Assist Head Coach in recruiting, instructing and retaining highly skilled student-athletes for the women’s volleyball team.
- Provide instruction to volleyball student-athletes on the fundamentals, details and strategies of volleyball as assigned by the Head Coach.
- Adhere to all policies and regulations of the Director of Athletics, Rollins College, SSC and NCAA.
- Assist with the marketing and promotion of volleyball.
- Counsel student athletes in sport participation, personal development and academics.
- Work with the Admissions Office to enroll student-athletes.
- Assist in monitoring student-athlete’s academic progress.
- Assist in fundraising in volleyball and with major fund raisers in the Athletic Department.
- Assist Head Coach in developing game strategies.

Minimum Qualifications & Education:
|
- Bachelor's degree.
- Playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate level.
- Possess a valid driver’s license, or ability to obtain a Florida driver's license within 30 days of accepting the job, and acceptable motor vehicle record.
|

- A proven record of integrity, high principles and demonstrated skill in developing and motivating student athletes academically and athletically.
- Ability to effectively teach fundamentals, position details and strategies of volleyball during preparation and practice sessions.
- Ability to:
- Motivate teams to become successful.
- Travel and recruit student athletes.
- Learn and comply with all policies and regulations of Rollins College NCAA and SSC.
- Efficiently operate a personal computer and associated software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Front Rush, CA etc.)
- Communicate effectively and appropriately.
- Maintain confidentiality of records and information.
- Interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations, the college community and the public.
- Detect and correct grammatical and spelling errors in written correspondence.
- Maintain files accurately, in paper and in software programs.
- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Achieve certification to drive student-athletes to team athletic events.
- Scout opponents.
- Work summer camps.

Work Environment:

- In-person, campus-based position.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends during the sports season.
- Flexible to ever changing schedule and media needs associated with intercollegiate athletics.
