The opportunity:

We are seeking a Finance Analyst / Accountant to join our Development Finance team based in Sydney. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will provide critical financial and management accounting support for our NSW Development business, working across large-scale projects.

You will collaborate with project teams, finance professionals, and external stakeholders, ensuring accurate financial reporting, forecasting, and commercial insights to drive business performance.

What You’ll Do

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

  • Assist in month-end and quarter-end financial processes, including journal postings
  • Prepare and review monthly financial results for the business unit
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and corporate reporting
  • Support the preparation of audited financial statements and liaise with auditors
  • Provide quarterly reports for corporate group reporting

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Work closely with project teams to ensure accurate and timely financial forecasts
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Conduct financial analysis to track project performance against budgets and forecasts

Commercial Support & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Provide financial insights to support project teams and business decision-making
  • Build trusted relationships across finance and development teams
  • Actively contribute to process improvements and financial innovation

What You’ll Bring

  • Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or Accounting
  • CA or CPA qualification (or working towards certification)
  • 2+ years’ experience in an accounting practice or large corporate finance team (Property experience preferred but not required)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools
  • A proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative mindset
