Position Summary

Academic Specialist, 100%-time appointment, short-term position (May 15-August 15, 2024).

The position provides overall management for MSU Institute of Agricultural Technology (IAT) admissions process and recruitment activities. Primary duties of the position include maintaining IAT admissions process through SLATE, managing IAT new student orientation activities, and assisting with student advising.

Qualifications include strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills. The successful candidate will have at least three years of program management experience or customer relationship management (CRM) experience.

Duties of the program coordinator consist of the following:

  • Manage IAT advising and admissions using Slate CRM.
  • Facilitate new student orientation activities.
  • Assist with student advising using the MSU Student Information System (SIS) Campus Solutions.
  • Assist program coordinators/advisors with developing recruitment plans that utilizes multiple strategies to reach various target areas.

Required Degree

Masters -communication, education, business, agriculture

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s degree in communication, education, business, agriculture, student affairs, or similar field of study
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • At least three years of demonstrated success in managing projects.
