Position Summary
The Center for Integrative Studies in the Arts & Humanities (CISAH) at Michigan State University seeks an instructor to fill one course in health humanities and medical ethics at the rank of instructor or Assistant Professor for Spring 2025. The chosen instructor will be responsible for designing and delivering an innovative course that adheres to MSU’s Integrative Arts and Humanities (IAH) curriculum, which is required of all undergraduate students and aims to demonstrate the essential role that the arts and humanities play in the lives of all students, regardless of major.
This position will begin January 1, 2025, teaching one 4-credit general education course during the Spring 2025 semester.
Duties: Responsibilities include teaching an undergraduate general education course on health humanities and medical ethics. Course will be run as IAH 231B, the description of which can be viewed here: https://cisah.msu.edu/courses/
Position is planned to recur every Spring Semester

Minimum Requirements
- Ph.D. for Assistant Professor rank or MFA for Instructor rank in a humanities, arts, or related field
- Five years of experience in college-level teaching in general education arts or humanities courses
Desired Qualifications
- Experience teaching IAH courses at MSU
- Teaching, scholarly, and/or educational experiences with intersections of humanities and health fields
