Position Summary

The project focuses on the analysis of plastics (including microplastics) in aqueous medium. 

Job duties include:

  • Develop and apply analytical techniques such as spectroscopy (FTIR, NMR, etc.), flow cytometry, chromatography (HPLC, GC-MS), and thermal analysis (DSC, TGA, etc.) to analyze microplastics.
  • Conduct laboratory-based research, including sample preparation, data collection, and analysis.
  • Interpret complex data and prepare scientific reports, research papers, and presentations for publications and conferences.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams within the department and with external partners.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Science

Minimum Requirements

A Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Science, Materials Science, or a closely related field

Desired Qualifications

Candidates are encouraged to apply if they have expertise in analytical chemistry and polymer fields and experience applying state-of-the-art analytical techniques for field sampling and water environmental monitoring.

Extensive experience with analytical techniques, including spectroscopy, chromatography, or other relevant methods.

Expertise in microplastic sampling, extraction, and identification techniques is highly desirable.
