Position Summary(Basic Job Function)
This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.
Unit Position Summary
The MSU Human Resources Solutions Center Support Staff Records team is recruiting to fill a temporary position. The Support Staff Records team provides cross-functional support to MSU units across campus. The position necessitates acute attentiveness to details, the ability to prioritize tasks particularly in alignment with the MSU payroll schedule and intuitive dedication to integrity. Duties may include assignments in the following areas:
- Perform moderately complex employment-related analytical and transactional tasks in the HR-Payroll System and/or Applicant Tracking System
- Apply business rules, policies, payroll deadlines, and union contractual requirements.
- Review, consult on, and process support staff and student employment actions.
- Advise cross campus HR personnel on hire, rehire and change position actions in EBS in a supportive and attentive manner.
- Analyze records related to previous service employment credit, concurrent employment, work schedules and planned working time.
- Analyzing temporary and on-call employee records that may move to regular support staff positions or student positions or vice versus
- Analyze and determine appropriate payouts according to union contracts and University Policies and Procedures.
- Explain and apply Federal and State laws, union contracts, university policies and procedures to provide information guidance and resolve issues for major administrative units, departments, employees and retirees.
- Additional duties as assigned to assist and support the Records Management Team including the TOC/Student Processing area.
Desired Qualifications
Previous work experience in a human resources operation; experience working with human resources information systems; knowledge of University human resources policies and procedures highly desired.
