Position Summary
Assists with daily administration and coordination of Kellogg Center Housekeeping department, including interviewing, hiring, scheduling and supervising housekeeping team members; monitors housekeeping cleaning processes and procedures of guest rooms, corridors, and public areas to ensure cleanliness of building; facilitates daily line-up and department meetings; prepares daily opening reports and issues daily work assignments to all housekeeping team members; completes thorough, daily inspections of assigned guest rooms, corridors, and public areas; assists with planning and coordinating guest room preventative maintenance projects; assists with preparing weekly schedule; completes payroll information for housekeeping department; maintains appropriate and par levels of all cleaning supplies; conducts frequent linen inventories to ensure weekly business needs are met; reports maintenance needs of the building to the Engineering department to ensure guest satisfaction; trains and evaluates housekeeping team members; assists with handling hotel lost & found procedures.
All positions in RHS are designated as critical status. In the event of a university closure, modification, or suspension of operations due to snow or other emergency condition, persons in this position are expected to make all reasonable attempts to report to work as scheduled for the duration of the closure/suspension. If a person has an approved remote work agreement to work a portion of their normally scheduled work hours remotely, they may be called upon to work on-site to serve the MSU community.
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge that would normally be acquired through attainment of a High School diploma; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in hotel or closely related hospitality housekeeping activities including room inspection, training and coordination of support staff, ordering supplies, maintaining records, and proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with hotel computer systems including Opera and Saflok.

Hours and days: Variable hours and days based on operational needs including holidays. Between 7:00am and 6:00pm
