Position Summary

W.K. Kellogg Biological Station Manor House and Conference Center is looking for a Building Services Worker to provide housekeeping, guest services, and facilities services for lodging, events, and KBS operations. This position is located in Hickory Corners, MI at the Kellogg Biological Station. 

The primary responsibilities for this position are as follows:

• Housekeeping- Perform routine domestic cleaning such as making beds, cleaning guest rooms, rest rooms, and public areas. Assist with maintenance requests. 
• Hospitality Services: Reading banquet event orders to set up, service, and reset meeting rooms for meeting and conference groups. Assist kitchen with set and reset, dishes and maintaining food standard safety requirements.
• Facilities assistant - Cleaning KBS storage/stock areas, programming door codes for KBS staff, students, and lodging rooms. 
• Inventory, order, receive and stock all housekeeping chemicals.

Minimum Requirements

• Working knowledge of institutional housekeeping techniques is necessary.
• Graduation from high school or equivalent training and experience is necessary.
• Two years satisfactory experience as a Building Services Worker or an equivalent combination of training and experience is necessary.
• Willingness to work a flexible shift is necessary.
• Standards of personal hygiene consistent with sanitation rules and regulations is necessary.
• Occasional lifting of 26 to 75 pounds is required.

Summary of Physical Demands

Lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, and stairs required while holding up to 25lbs.
