Position Summary
The Laboratory of Dr. Xinyue Liu is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research associate interested in the designing, fabrication and characterization of novel hydrogel materials for applications in energy, environment, and health. In particular, we have engineered hydrogels for living sensors and are looking to expand them to be utilized for the environmental remediation, biofuel production, diagnosis and therapy. The selected candidate will be expected to independently carry out research projects and publish peer-reviewed journal articles advised by Dr. Xinyue Liu. In addition to the primary research responsibilities described above, the successful applicant will be able to participate in other lab and CHEMS departmental activities including assisting with training of undergraduate and/or graduate students, report writing, and grant writing. This position is initially for one year, renewable annually based on performance and the availability of funding. The position includes salary and fringe benefits for 1 year.

Doctorate
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, materials science, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry or related field by the start of the position.
Desired Qualifications
In addition to academic training, the candidate is expected to possess excellent communication and writing skills.
