Position Summary

The Department of Psychiatry seeks a Research Specialist to work with Dr. Alla Sikorskii and Dr. Jennifer Johnson.  The primary responsibilities for this position are: managing data collected in research projects, including quality assurance, scoring of instruments, merging and transformations of data sets for statistical analyses; conducting analyses of data from clinical trials and observational studies, including health insurance claims data; preparation of research reports, manuscripts, presentations; assistance with development of grant applications.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Statistics

Minimum Requirements

  • PhD in Statistics or related field with extensive quantitative methodology training
  • Three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in research design, statistical methods;  knowledge of computer software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse groups and lead aspects of research projects
  • Knowledge and experience with at least one statistical software such as SAS, SPSS, Stata, R.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and experience with methods of analysis of clinical trials
  • Experience managing large data sets including health insurance claims data
  • Experience with longitudinal data analyses
  • Knowledge of SAS and R statistical software
  • Experience with measurement and instrument development analyses
  • Experience with manuscript writing
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good organizational skills
