Position Summary
The Master’s in Accounting and Data Analytics (MSADA) program at Michigan State University is seeking a dynamic and student-focused Director to oversee program operations, admissions, student advising, and faculty collaboration. Since its launch in Fall 2023, the program has grown to 140 students, with a strong pipeline for future enrollment. This role is crucial in ensuring an outstanding student experience and driving program success. Specific responsibilities of the role include: Admissions; Advising Students; Liaison with department faculty and the Palmer Career Center; Coordinator of Student Events; and Teacher (depending upon department needs and director qualifications).
The following are types of job duties the program director can anticipate throughout the year:
Admissions
- Student recruitment efforts, including a drip campaign, Zoom sessions with people who expresses interest in the program, and personalized email follow-ups with prospective students.
- Proactively work with our digital marketing firm, RNL, to ensure our program web pages are optimized and reflect program content.
- Process applications in a timely manner consistent with MSU policies and procedures; facility with MSU admissions software
- Communicate with students about the status of their applications
Advising Students
- Onboarding, developing, and leading student orientation sessions.
- Initial individual meetings with each student, to establish a program of study consistent with the student’s career goals and desired pace of study.
- Ongoing advising in response to changing career goals, pace of study, or difficulties with coursework
- Completion of mandatory annual student evaluations/progress reports to Grad School
Liaison between faculty and students
- Communicate student concerns about the program and courses to the Faculty Director and/or Department Chair
- Work with Department Chair on course scheduling
- Communicate faculty concerns unique to the online environment to the Faculty Director and/or Chair and/or the college Curriculum Development Team.
Liaison to the Palmer Center
- Facilitating access to Broad career services for students who desire access.
Coordinator of students
- Develop and execute online student social events, speakers, etc.
Occasional teaching of MSADA courses, subject to department needs and the program director's qualifications.

Master's Degree in any field
Desired Qualifications
M.S. in Accounting or M.B.A. with Accounting emphasis.
Two or more years of H.R., accounting, or student-facing work at a university; or two or more years work experience in the accounting industry
