About the Enterprise Project Management Office
The Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) manages projects and portfolios for MSU, employing industry best practices to align with university objectives. As part of the Office of the Executive Vice President of Administration, it serves as a centralized hub for enterprise projects. The EPMO ensures a university-wide approach to identify, prioritize, and execute projects in alignment with MSU's mission and strategic goals. The EPMO also plays a critical role in supporting the MSU Innovation Lab, an initiative designed to foster continuous improvement, operational excellence, and the development of innovative solutions to enhance institutional operations and experiences.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a collaborative and dynamic Business Analyst/Project Manager to join our team within the Office of the Executive Vice President of Administration (EVPA).
This role is essential for supporting the business analysis needs of high-priority, strategic, and complex projects that align with MSU’s mission and strategic direction. The position also plays a key role in advancing both the enterprise project portfolio and the MSU Innovation Lab, which focuses on fostering operational excellence and cultivating innovative ideas across the institution.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and effective communicator who can engage at all levels of the organization. Acting as a connector and facilitator, this individual will help align cross-functional teams to support improved processes, streamlined services, and thoughtful decision-making. The role involves close collaboration with university leadership and stakeholders to ensure alignment with institutional goals and the successful delivery of meaningful outcomes.
Business Analyst/Project Manager:

- Analyzing and documenting business processes to uncover areas for improvements that will boost efficiency.
- Plan, organize, and monitor project progression using structured methodologies and tools.

Work Environment:

- This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum of one in-person day per week. Additional in-office days may be required depending on project needs, stakeholder meetings, or key deadlines.
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Business Administration, Management or related field; three to five years of related and progressively more expansive work experience in project management, business analysis, facilitating/training with a focus on business management; workflow process analysis and implementation of strategic initiatives or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Sponsorship for Work authorization is not available for this position.
Desired Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) certification is highly preferred.
- Experience managing large-scale, enterprise-wide projects in a higher education or similarly complex environment.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and the ability to apply these approaches flexibly as needed.
- Strong experience using project management tools like Microsoft Office suite including Teams, MS Project, Visio, JIRA, or similar platforms.
