Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Unit Position Summary

Graphic Design & Production:
Assist in creating presentations-quality and camera-ready graphs, charts, illustrations, and visual content for internal communications, marketing campaigns, and educational materials. This includes hands-on design and editing of proofs, utilizing both electronic and hand-design techniques. 

Content Creation & Editing: 
Write, proofread, and edit communication materials, including newsletters, marketing brochures, social media posts, and training resources. Ensure that content is clear, engaging, and aligned with the organizations brand and tone. 

 

Project Management: 
Coordinate tasks with other team members, including students and staff. ensuring that projects are completed on time and meet quality standards. Provide estimates, suggest solutions, and maintain communication with clients throughout the production process. 

Internal Communications:
Assist in the creation and distribution of internal newsletters, updates, and bulletins. Work with the Communication Coordinator to keep employees informed about important developments within the organization. 

 

Graphic Services & Photography:
Act as a photographer for the department, capturing images for use in various communication projects. Ensure high-quality graphics and visuals are used across all digital and print materials. 

Website & Digital Content Management:
Contribute to the development and maintenance of the departments website, ensuring that content is up-to-date and accessible for educational users. 

Training & Instruction: 

Provide on-site assistance, including teaching others on the use of equipment and processes related to graphics design, printing, and publishing. 

Material & Supply Management: 
Ensure the department has the necessary supplies for project completion. Order materials, manage inventory, and maintain a well-organized workspace. 

 

 

Desired Qualifications

Education: A degree or diploma in Communication, Graphic Design, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.

Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in a communication and office support.

Technical Skills: Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft, Office Suite, and web design tools. Familiarity with digital printing processes is a plus. 

Communication Skills: Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Ability to communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders. 

Organizational Skills: Strong time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines. 

Creativity & Attention to Detail: A keen eye for design and detail, with the ability to bring ideas to life through visual communication. 

Photography Skills: Basic photography experience is an asset for capturing high-quality visuals for communication materials.
