Position Summary

Summary:

The Clinic Manager provides effective leadership and accountability for all operations of one or more clinic locations to include excellence in patient-focused clinical care, human resources, information systems, quality assurance, and financial management. The Clinic Manger is responsible for business operations, personnel management, and oversight of the daily operations of the practice(s). 

Duties: 

  • Responsible for teaching, coaching, and supervising the daily task of support staff.
  • Create schedules, prioritizes work, resolve conflict, by interacting with employees and assessing individual and team performance.
  • Interprets and assists in developing policies, procedures, and performance standards to answer questions, resolve problems and achieve appropriate organizational benchmarks.  
  • Participates in, or independently develops, manages, and monitors the unit budget; participates in budget forecasting and business planning; reviews financial reports; authorizes clinic expenditures.
  • Maintains a system for accurately recording and reporting patient care activities to ensure quality health care; ensures compliance to federal regulations. Manages initiatives as identified by Unit. 
  • Coordinates office staff and providers to promote clinic flow and excellent patient care.  
  • Participates in setting up/orienting new providers and new programs. 
  • Performs patient care, including hands on, based on scope of practice, and via phone or portal communication. 
  • Performs Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in a business-related field or in a field which corresponds to the particular department of employment; five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in office procedures and administration, or in performing responsibilities related to the operational activities of the employing unit; experience in a supervisory role; experience with word processing, database, spreadsheet, presentation software and/or desktop publishing, web page software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Summary of Physical Demands

The job requires significant physical effort and involves carrying charts and medical equipment, assisting in ambulating and lifting patients and viewing a CRT screen more than 75% of the time.

Summary of Health Risks

Exposure to human blood, serum, and other body fluids; and materials covered under Universal Precautions; TB risk or work within three (3) feet of patients in a health care setting; wear a respirator.
