Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides technical support. Responsibilities may include computer programming or operations; research support; medical patient care; technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication or operation; or other technical support functions.

Unit Position Summary

The Temporary On-Call Producer is responsible for producing high-quality local content for WKAR on a project-by-project basis. This role supports station initiatives by researching, scripting, shooting, and editing original multimedia stories that reflect the community and advance the mission of public media.
Working closely with editorial and production staff, the Producer will contribute to content distributed across multiple platforms, including broadcast, digital, and social channels. Assignments will vary in scope and schedule based on production needs.

Desired Qualifications

•    Produce original local content from concept through final delivery
    •    Research and develop story ideas that align with public broadcasting values and editorial standards
    •    Write clear, compelling scripts and interview questions
    •    Shoot video and audio in studio and field settings
    •    Edit video and audio content for broadcast and digital platforms
    •    Collaborate with station staff to meet project goals, deadlines, and technical requirements
    •    Adapt content for multiple distribution platforms as needed
    •    Maintain organized project files and follow established production
