Human Resources Business Partner

Position Summary

This position serves as the primary HR resource for assigned centers and institutes within the MAU, partnering with the MAU HR Manager to ensure consistency and best practice implementation. Oversee the talent acquisition, performance management, staffing updates, disciplinary actions, and all HR-related functions for assigned centers and institutes.

The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000 annually. This position is hybrid-remote and will require a minimum of one day per week on-site in East Lansing, MI. 

Minimum Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, or a field related to the employing unit; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in managing human resource functions, designing and implementing training programs and human resource/labor relations management and computer applications; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Desired Qualifications

  • Progressive HR experience with demonstrated success in a Human Resources Business Partner or comparable strategic HR advisory role.
  • Experience working in unionized environments.
  • Experience with performance management and employee development programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in organizational development, navigating change, and supporting leaders through structural or cultural transitions.
  • Experience in workforce planning, talent forecasting, and advising leaders on long‑range staffing needs.
