Position Summary
A Postdoctoral Scholar position is available in Dr. Polly Hsu’s laboratory at Michigan State University to investigate translational regulation in Arabidopsis and crops. Candidates interested in RNA biology and translational regulation are encouraged to apply.
Detailed description of work/duties:
90% Research (design, perform, analyze, and document experiments, ex. generate/characterize Arabidopsis mutants and transgenic plants, large-scale DNA/RNA/protein-extraction, PCR, qRT-PCR, western blot, RNA-seq/Ribo-seq library constructions and analysis, and prepare manuscripts for publication)
10% Assist in Lab organization and training new lab members (e.g., safety officer duties, assisting in training future Lab members on basic procedures)

Required Degree
Doctorate -Plant Biology, Molecular Biology, or Genomics
Minimum Requirements
PhD in Plant Biology, Molecular Biology, Genomics or related field
At least two first-author research articles in peer-reviewed plant journals
Solid experience in plant molecular biology
Desired Qualifications
Experience handling RNA in plants and next-generation sequencing library construction
Experience working with Arabidopsis
Experience studying mRNA translation or RNA biology
