Position Summary

Seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to join two projects hosted in the Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics at Michigan State University (MSU). The projects are led by Drs. Dawn Misra and Danielle Gartner. The Postdoctoral Scholar will split their time between a project involving analysis of data in support of research examining placental health and a project involving the facilitation of grants that address community-based solutions to opioid misuse. The Postdoctoral Scholar must have strong data management, analysis, and organization skills. The Postdoctoral Scholar will have the opportunity to be lead author on publications if desired.

Required Degree

Terminal -Epidemiology, economics, public policy, public health or a related field.

Minimum Requirements

• A doctoral degree or equivalent in epidemiology, economics, public policy, public health or a related field.
• Strong skills in statistical analysis using either SAS or R.
• Experience with grant writing.
• Experience facilitating meetings with a diverse constituency.
• Ability to work independently; self-motivated.
• Ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with quantitative analyses using placental pathology data.
• Subject-matter knowledge of epidemiology, maternal and child health, public policy, public health.
• Experience working with community-based organizations.

• Excellent scientific writing ability and strong communication skills
