Position Summary

In this vital role, you will be the backbone of our kitchen operations, ensuring our serving equipment, cookware, and facilities are spotless and sanitized to the highest standards. Position is located at the Gallery in Snyder Hall.

All positions in RHS are designated as critical status. In the event of a university closure, modification, or suspension of operations due to snow or other emergency condition, persons in this position are expected to make all reasonable attempts to report to work as scheduled for the duration of the closure/suspension. If a person has an approved remote work agreement to work a portion of their normally scheduled work hours remotely, they may be called upon to work on-site to serve the MSU community.

Minimum Requirements

  • Casual knowledge of cleaning materials, equipment, and methods is necessary.
  • Willingness to work a flexible shift is necessary.
  • Frequent lifting of over 75 pounds is required.

Desired Qualifications

  • Cleaning Expertise: Direct experience handling commercial cleaning materials, chemical sanitizers, and heavy-duty dishwashing equipment safely.
  • Schedule Flexibility: High flexibility with work schedules, including a willingness to work early mornings, late nights and weekends as production demands change.
  • Growth Mindset: Strong willingness to learn standard food service methods, kitchen safety protocols, and operational procedures for future development.
