Your role within the team 
 
This role of the Scientific Affairs Manager is to assist the Research & Innovation Director of China Family Nutrition and Care, in managing all the scientific affairs in Australia for China CBEC business. In addition, this role works closely with the dynamic China CBEC project teams both in ANZ and in China hub to drive technical product innovation and manages the development of scientifically accurate and clinically relevant documentation to support product efficacy and claims ensuring unique brand position is built, maintained and protected. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Supervise and implement scientific affairs support across the full life cycle of the human nutrition portfolio, with a focus on the China CBEC (Cross-Border E-Commerce) channel, 

  • Collaborate with the Research & Innovation Director of China Family Nutrition & Care, as well as senior stakeholders from China, ANZ, and global teams, 

  • Generate scientifically accurate and clinically relevant review documentation to support product development, efficacy, and claims, 

  • Drive opportunities for new and scientifically differentiated innovation in the China market and globally. 

Desired Skills & Experience

To make sure we’re setting new starters up for success, we ask that you meet a few criteria relevant to the role to be considered for this opportunity: 

  • >5 years’ experience in complementary medicines, nutrition or food industries, skincare knowledge an advantage, 

  • Postgraduate qualification (PhD or Masters) in pharmaceutical, medical, nutritional, or health sciences, etc, 

  • Experience supervising and developing new products or formulations from concept to launch preferably in the FMCG space, 

  • Experience working across different regulatory environments and understands how to interpret the regulations to design compliant products, 

  • Experience or interest in the Australian & Global complementary medicine markets. Viewed from both a commercial and technical perspective, 

  • Experience critically and pragmatically evaluating and supervising the evaluation of research publications, preferably in the nutrition field, 

  • Experience conducting and supervising the conduct of strategic literature searches, preferably in the nutrition field, 

  • Experience applying nutrient and botanical mechanisms of action within human metabolism to new product opportunities, 

  • Experience translating nutrition science into tangible business product development opportunities.
